Complete Kitchen Remodel – Valley
Richard and Trudy had functional kitchen. I mean that in the best of ways. It was spacious and had access to the deck.Â
The window and patio door were drafty, the appliances were my age and the carpet – well, it had seen better days. Come to think of it, we can classify all the visible surfaces of the kitchen as “having seen better days”. So we started from scratch.
We installed a new Marvin Sliding Glass Patio Door and a new Marvin Casement window and custom aluminum cladding to match the rest of the house.
We came in and gutted the kitchen of its custom cabinets and installed new Custom cabinets with all the light rail and trim for our accent lighting. The fireplace mantle and old display shelves were replaced with display cabinets and display lighting, glass shelves and glass doors. The thought behind the glass door is this; when you have an open shelf, it tends to collect “stuff” and dust. By enclosing the area, you create the “display” area.
We removed the tile in the front entry and installed new tile. I recommend that EVERY entrance in your home have a flooring material that is extremely durable and weather resistant. Beyond the entry tile, we installed laminate flooring throughout the kitchen all the way through to the back door.
The Granite countertop we installed was provided by Tatanka Stone, once again we installed the undermount sink. For those who have not experienced the joy of using one, please call and I can arrange a visit to any one of our Projects. The fireplace/display areas each had a countertop section as well. Again, we used a Moen Faucet on this Project.
As far as remaining surfaces, we removed the paneling and the underlying wallpaper, repaired the drywall and painted all surfaces.
We wired different zones of the under-cabinet lighting and all are dimmable for that extra mood lighting effect.
The way in which the tile and the shadows intersect was difficult to achieve but worth every second of thought that went into it, the Frosty Effects are ALWAYS worth it. The layout is the same, but the appeal is Beyond ordinary!
